Peshawari Chana Recipe

Ingrediants :

2-cup peas (kabuli chana)

1-cup onion chopped

3 tblsp oil

1/2 cup tomatoes chopped

3 tblsp coriander powder

2 tsp turmeric powder

2 tblsp chana masala

2 tsp garam masala powder

1 tsp cumin powder

2 tblsp red chilli powder

3 tsp tea leaves

2 bay leafs

3 green chillies slit

2 tblsp ginger paste

2 tblsp garlic paste

Salt to taste

Few coriander leaves to garish

Directions :

First, soak Peas overnight. The next day, drain the water and boil the soaked Chana in a separate vessel with fresh water. Tie tea leaves in a piece of cloth and put it in the vessel. Boil Chana until they turn soft. After it is done, strain and keep them aside.

Heat oil in a pan, fry both bayleaf and chopped onions in it. Fry until onions turn golden brown.

Now, add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies, stir for few seconds.

Mix in chopped tomatoes, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, chana masala and cumin powder and continue stirring for some time.

Add boiled Chana to it and cook the entire item in 2 cup of water. Cook until the gravy gets thicken.

Finally, add garam masala and salt. Mix well and garnish it with fresh coriander leaves.
