Barfi Barfi Movie Review:

The main plot of Barfi revolves around an innocent youngster named Murphy (Ranbir Kapoor) who is dumb and deaf by birth. He is fondly called as 'Barfi'. The movie runs on flashback episodes narrated by some persons who celebrated their life in Murphy’s world.

Barfi is an innocent and a very friendly person who lives his life in his own way with easy-going nature. He doesn’t bother about problems surrounding him. He is the king in his world. Barfi falls in love with a beautiful girl Shruti (Ileana), who comes to his town with her family members. But, she gets engaged to her college friend.

Now, here is the next story related to a mentally-challenged girl Jhilmil (Priyanka Chopra). She was kept in a special room, away from the society by her parents, as they find it hard to maintain and tackle her. But, Later, Barfi becomes a close-pal of her and meanwhile, the affection between them also thickens.

Barf boasts of some outstanding performances of the lead cast. Ranbir Kapoor has delivered an impressive performance and proved once again that he is truly a versatile actor in this generation, his best after Rockstar. His histrionics and body language surely resembles that of his grandfather legendary actor Raj Kapoor in this film. Priyanka Chopra shines as mentally-challenging girl Jhilmil and her acting in the movie needs a special appreciation. South beauty Ileana D'Cruz looks beautiful on-screen and at the same time, she is good at acting. She has done justice to her role with utmost conviction. And the renaming cast including Jishu Sengupta, Saurabh Shukla, Akash Khurana, Ashish Vidyarthi and Rupa Ganguly are good too.

Lead cast performances
Different Story
Refreshing scenes between the central characters
Direction, Anurag Basu surely gets critical acclaims.
Songs, Pritam at his best
Cinematography, the scenic beauty of Darjeeling is shown well.

Slow narration
a bit of confusing story telling
Dragging 1st half
Miss of commercial elements

Barfi has slow first half, it should had been edited well. Audience tends to get a little bored at times as the two lead characters do not have any dialogues. However, Barfi is a must-watch film for its novel point and extraordinary performances. Barfi celebrates life!

We have to wait and see how single theater crowd reacts to this typical film as it is far away from commercial and mass-masala elements.
