Akshardham temple located near Delhi in Noida, India and the temple is one of the important places in Delhi tourism. The structure represents great Indian culture and its architecture is simply perfect. The impressive structure comprises of 20,000 statues, floral motifs and beautiful carved pillars made of stones. The temple was inspired and decelerated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the in corporeal head of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha; whose 3,000 informers helped 7,000 artisans built Akshardham.

The beauty of the temple attracts around 70 % of all tourists who visit Delhi. It was formally opened on 6 November 2005; it sits on the banks of the Yamuna with beautiful gardens and fountains, which is close to the 2010 commonwealth Games village. The monument at the middle of the complex was constructed with Vastu shastra and pancharatra Shastra. The building features a huge middle monument crafted entirely of stone, it exhibits many incidents of swaminarayan from his life and the history of India, The temple has a musical fountain and huge landscaped gardens. The temple is here at Delhi is named after a belief in Swaminarayan Hinduism.

The additional features are there in this temple for example Yogi Hraday Kamal, Neelkanth Abishek, Narayan Sarovar, Premvati Ahargruh, AARSH centre.

As a vision of Yogoji Maharaj the temple had been planned since 1968. The Maharaj was head of spiritual master for BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, has expressed his desire to build a noble temple on the banks of the Yamuna River to 2 or 3 devotee families of Swaminarayan in New Delhi. Attempts were made to begin the project, however small progress was made. Yogiji Maharaj was died in the year 1971.

Opening Ceremony of Akshardham was ordained on 6th November 2005 by Pramukh Swami Maharaj and ceremoniously assigned to the nation by DR.A.P.J Abdul Kalam president of India, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Lal Krishna Advani, the leader of the opposition in the Indian parliament for which 25,000 guests participated. After touring the middle monument president kalam then gave a speech on where Akshardham temple fits with society and completed by saying. The temple also has received Guinness World Record on 17 December 2007 by Michael whitty.

Akshardham Delhi was one of the great attractions featured at the time of 2010 Commonwealth Games.
