The reputed Indoor Arena of America the Philips Arena is located in Atlanta, Georgia and it was named so for Philips Electronics, which is a founding partner. The total Construction of Philips Arena was completed in 1999 in the place of former Omni. A whopping amount of $213.5 million is spent on this indoor arena and it was home of the NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers, NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and WNBA's Atlanta Dream and also has hosted many major and prominent concerts, tours and events; mainly are U2, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Kenny Chesney, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, Disney on Ice, Harlem Globetrotters, plus Sesame Street Live Etc.

The versatile Philips arena seats 18,729 for basketball and about 18,545 for ice hockey. The huge crowd of 21,000 have presented at the NBA regular season basket ball game of Atlanta Hawks Vs Los Angeles Lakers in the 2010. The arena comprises of 2,893 club seats and 96 luxury boxes and it has capacity of 21,000 seats to host any events and concerts.

The structure of arena in unusual manner had club seats and luxury suits lies on one side and the general seats were aligned along the other three sides of the play ground. This unique style of Philips arena is totally different compared to others who will boast the luxury boxes and club seats in the 'belly' of the arena as they are the main source to generate revenue. The management has planned the layout in order to bring the bulk of the seats closer to the playing surface with some revenue generating club seats and suits.

The steel rods are angled in order to support the roof that faces the downtown is dotted with "ATLANTA" and the other side facing the Georgia World Congress Center is spell out CNN, The arena which connects the CNN had rail station below providing access to MARTA public transportation.
