DAMAN AND DIULocated near the Arabian Sea coast and bounded between Gujarat and Goa states, DAMAN AND DIU is a reputed union territory of India. The small towns of this place were ruled once by the Portuguese until India got the independence in 1947 and after they were merged in the Indian sub-continent in the year 1961. Later in 1987, it was transformed as union territory.


DAMAN:


Three beautiful seas and rivers are located in this reputed tourist destination, It is beautiful to watch various birds flying on the coast line during monsoon season. One must need permission from local agencies to have boating. Another major attraction in Daman is fishes of different breeds; it is beautiful to watch them in clear waters.


Heritage Daman:

The Daman is regarded as a heritage site with its many major attractions around the city; fort of Moti Daman and jampore beach, pergola garden, Water Park, satya sagar udyan, and churches and forts belongs to 16th century. There are beautiful colonial houses that are constructed in different structures and designs are seen and a 16th century fort built by Portuguese is also a major attraction.


The beaches:

Daman and Diu is popular for its beaches, one of it is devka beach, where one can witness black rocks that glow in the day light. Second one is jamporeit beach which is sandy, cool and silent. Sunrise and sunset are major attractions in these beaches. One can do jogging in the morning at Devka amusement park that houses few food plazas and a nice garden. Children will get exited to play the games in the water park that is also located at a distance 2km from devka beach, some packages are also provided here to attract the tourist,


Around Daman:

Silvassa:

It is Capital city for two places i.e Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Silvassa is an industrial hub with various factories and industries included, it provides the jobs to the locals. The respective place is not only refereed as an industrial city, but also popular for its natural surroundings, famous churches, lion safari park, vanganga lake and island garden etc.

There are famous resorts and hotels located in this place to provide luxurious facilities such as conference hall, clean rooms, bar, 24 hours communication facilities, room service and swimming pool, they offer other packages too for visitors in order to attract them. The restaurants and fold plazas provides spicy food such as sea food, Indian and Chinese and continental dishes.

Nearest airport to Daman and Diu is Mumbai about 193 km far from this place.
Closest railway station is vapi; it is at a 10 km distance from Daman and Diu.
There are bus services connected to Mumbai and to other major cities of Gujarat and goa from this amazing tourist destination of India.
