Onion Adai

Procedure:

Ingrediants :

2 cups steam Rice

1 Onion chopped finely

1 inch Ginger

9 Red Chillies Whole

6 Green Chillies

1/4 cup Coconut (scraped)

1/4 tsp Asafoetida1

Oil to fry

Salt to taste

Dals:

1/4 cup Red Gram

1/4 cup Bengal Gram

1/4 cup Pigeon Pea

1/2 cup Black Gram

Spices:

1/4 cup Coriander Leaves (crushed)

10 Curry Leaves




Directions :

Process to Make Onion Adai:

1. Initially wash the rice and soak it along with dals for about 3-4 hours.

2. Next grind the green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, curry leaves and red chillies by adding salt.

3. Grind the rice along with dal to a thick batter and keep aside for an hour.

4. Now add together paste, asafoetida, chopped onion and coconut to this batter and stir well.

4. Now make a dosa by spreading the batter to a thick circular shape on the griddle. Make some holes in the center and Pour oil on the sides as well in the middle. Cover the entire item and cook it in simmer.

5. Next Turn it over and pour the oil, cook it till it turns crispy and golden brown in color all over.

6. Finally serve Onion Adai hot along with chutney.
