MALABAR CHEMMEEN KARI RECIPE

Procedure:

Ingrediants :

1 kg. Prawns (small)

1 cup sambar onions

6 pieces kodumpuli

4-5 curd chillies

4-5 red chillies whole

1 tblsp red chilli powder

3 green chillies

2 raw mangoes

3 sprigs curry leaves (kari patta)

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tblsp coriander powder

1 tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds

1 tblsp coconut oil

2 drumsticks

5 tblsp oil

2 cups scrapped coconut

Salt to taste


Directions :

Process to make MALABAR CHEMMEEN KARI RECIPE:

1. Initially marinate the washed prawns with turmeric powder and a little salt.

2. Chop the onions and wash and slit the green chillies as well as curd chillies.

3. Now cut the drumstick into 3\" pieces and Peel the mangoes and cut into pieces.

4. Slightly crush the methi seeds and keep aside. Grind the soaked coconuts by adding 1 cup of warm water, keep the extracted thick milk aside

5. Fry onions in heated oil and later add the masala powders and stir well.

6. Later add the green and curd chillies, curry leaves, kodumpuli and coconut residue, boil the entire item adding 4 cups of water till the curry thickens. Keep the formed gravy aside.

7. Now in a separate pan Fry methi seeds and red chillies and in oil and stir well. Add the marinated prawns, drumsticks plus mangoes and cook them slightly.

8. Finally pour the whole curry in pan that had half cooked prawns, now again cook the entire dish in low flame.

9. Add salt and also coconut milk during cooking. After 5 -10 min, Malabar Chemmeen Kari Recipe is Done.
