Kerala Chicken Stew

Procedure:

Ingrediants :

500 gm chicken

1 large onion, sliced

1 large potato, peeled and cubed

1/2 tsp ginger paste

2 cloves garlic

5 green chillis

1/2 tsp garam masala

1/2 cup thick coconut milk

1 cup thin coconut milk

1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper pwd

3 cloves

1 cinnamon

1 cardamom

7 pepper corns

8 curry leaves

1/2 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp oil

1/2 tbsp ghee

Salt to taste



Directions :

Heat oil in a vessel and add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, pepper corns and few curry leaves. Sauté it until we get nice aroma.

Add garlic and ginger paste, fry few secs. Now, add green chillis and sliced onions and sauté it till onions turn golden brown.

Add the chicken pieces (500gm) and mix well. Cook the whole item on medium heat for about 5-6 minutes.

Now add thin coconut milk and salt, mix well and cook for 4 minutes.

Mix in garam masala powder, carrot and potato cubes and close the vessel. Cook under medium heat, till chicken, carrot and potato turn soft.

When the item is completely cooked, add the thick coconut milk, few curry leaves, lemon juice, pepper powder and stir well. Cook for another 2 minutes on low fame.

Turn of the heat and garnish it with curry leaves

Kerala special Chicken Stew is ready, serve it hot with appam, roti or rice.
