Aloo Matar ki Sabzi

Procedure:

Ingrediants :

Potatoes – 5

Green peas - 1 cup

Tomatoes – 4

3 green chilies

1 Ginger Piece

Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Red chili powder - 2 tsps

Coriander powder – 21/2 tsps

Roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp

Garam masala powder - 1 tsp

Kasuri methi – 11/2 tsp

Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

Coriander leaves - 2

Oil - 3 tbsps

Salt to taste




Directions :

First of all, boil potatoes in fresh water for some time. After they are 3/4th cooked, drain the water and peel the potatoes and cut into cubes.

In the same way, boil the tomatoes as well for few minutes. Drain the water after boiled, peel them and grind to a fine paste.

Make the paste of green chilies and ginger.

Heat oil in vessel and add cumin seeds. After cumin seeds got neatly fried, add green chilli ginger paste and sauté it for few seconds.

Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and kasuri methi and 3 tbsp of water. Cook the entire dish for few seconds, but on the low flame.

Now, add the tomato paste and 1 cup of water to it and continue cooking on medium flame for about 10 minutes.

Add green peas, potato cubes and 3 cups of water. Reduce the flame and cook for about 15 minutes (until potatoes and peas are completely cooked).

After it is done, add garam masala powder and salt and mix them well.

Turn off the flame and garnish the dish with fresh coriander leaves.

Finally, yummy \'Aloo Matar ki Sabzi\' is ready!!

This north Indian curry will be nice with parathas, Chapatis
