Description :

Sri Ranganatha temple is located in New York. This temple idea was taken shape in August 1984 at the birthday celebrations of the 44th jeeyar of Sri Ahobila mutt. The idea was implemented by the Dr.Venkat Kanumalla to construct this temple for Sri Ranganayaki and Lord Sri Ranganatha to propagate the concept of sarangati Absolute surrender to lord Sriman Narayana. The 5 acres of land was found to construct the temple in Pomona, New York.

On Oct 8, 1987 Sri Ranganatha seva samithi was registered in the state of New York. Later the idols of the present Sri Ranganatha, Sri Devi, Mahalakshmi, Bhu Devi and Andal prana pratishtha was performed at the Dasavatharam Sannidhi in srirangam, India in the presence of the 44th jeeyar. The idols are carried air lift to New York. The venkat kanumalla blessed by divya mangala vigrahas at his residence for next 12 years by having daily aradhana.


The temple ground breaking construction ceremony was performed in 1997 and construction of first phase of this temple was started. The temple construction work is done by 10 skilled stapathis were brought from India and they worked until January 2001 for 20 months and also complete the temple tradition work and extraordinary pranvakara vimanam. The construction was going on the Vaishnava organizations in us encourage and continue support for this project. The many devotees give the funds for second phase of temple construction by collecting funds from their homes and borrowed from personal savings to complete this temple construction.


Finally the temple construction was constructed on February 14, 2001 and final kumbabishekam was performed on May 27, 2001. The huge support by the devotees by collecting funds and the devotees cleared the construction loan $1,800,000. And nearly 500 kilograms of silver kavacham for all idols offered by devotees. The temple administration held cultural programs to teach the Hindu culture to the devotees who living in us especially children and the temple is beautifully decorated with flowers on festival days. The devotees come from all over the us to visit this temple and get the blessings of God.
