Description :

It is also pronounced as Aal-teenyu. Altinho is a hill which is located in the centre of Panjim is the capital of the Indian state of Goa, which has got oldest bungalows of ministers. This was considered as an elite residential colony in the past. It rises from river and sea fronts.

Altinho has Bishop’s Palace built in 1894, Jogger’s park and the travelling goddess. Down the road you can find Boca de Vaca Spring that has sweet water which is still used as drinking water by the neighborhood people.

The spring has Mahalaxmi Temple dates back to 1818 and the deity was brought by travelling Brahmins in the 16th century.
