The John G. Shedd Aquarium is in Chicago, Illinois, USA. that opened on May 30, 1930 which is an indoor public aquarium. The aquarium consists more than 5,000,000 US gallons of water. The aquarium contains variety fishes and sea living beings. And it consists of permanent salt fish collection known as first inland aquarium. Shedd Aquarium is the most visited aquarium in the U.S.A in 2005 and 2007. The aquarium is the major attraction of Chicago. The aquarium contains 1500 spices marine mammals, including fish, birds, amphibians, snakes and insects. The aquarium receives many awards for best exhibit from Association of zoos and aquariums in 1999 and Amazon rising in 2001 and wild reef in the year 2004.

The history of this aquarium was unique and the construction of this aquarium was started on 2nd November, 1927 and was completed on December 19th 1929. The john G. Shedd has given the aquarium as gift to the city of Chicago. In the year 1991 aquarium opened a largest addition to the aquarium that consists many marine mammals in ocenarium. The temporary display includes the komodo king and lizards and also consists of variety of sea jellies such as blue blubber jelly, loinís Mane jelly, and much more.

The aquarium has extraordinary architecture. The architecture was taken from classical Greek architecture and designers are graham, Anderson, probst & white. The main aquarium is built in octagonal, fronted by Doric columns and topped by a dome. The architects take special care about the aquarium architecture such as tortoise shells, dolphins, octopuses, waves and fishes all over the aquarium interior and exterior. The ocenarium is designed in latest style which represents as the Pacific Northwest but it looks as older part of the building.

The ocenarium looks like blacked by a wall of windows that look out onto Lake Michigan. The ocenarium attracts the visitors with wide range of varieties that the visitors can enjoy by viewing variety of fishes and sea living beings.
